What is an Inverter?
The Honda "EU" Inverter Series produces multi-phase,
high voltage AC (alternating current) and then changes it to DC
(direct current) electronically. This DC voltage is then processed
(inverted) into ultra-clean, stable 120V AC power.
The cutting edge micro-electronics
in Honda's Inverter generators delivers the highest quality,
ultra-clean power for even the most sensitive equipment. Inverter
circuitry minimizes spikes and fluctuations in the power source
for safe operation of the latest electronic equipment from
personal computers to the most sophisticated scientific devices.

Eco-Throttle for Superior Fuel Economy
The EU Series generators feature a load-dependant "Eco-Throttle"
that automatically maintains engine speed and power output at the most efficient level
under all usage loads. (i.e. - Engine RPM increases or decreases
depending on wattage requirement.) This not only reduces fuel
consumption and operating noise, but also keeps exhaust emissions extremely
low.

Highest Quality Electricity and Powerful
Parallel Operation
The first in its output class to incorporate a
microprocessor - controlled
sine-wave inverter, EU Series generators deliver electricity as good as commercial
sources, with wave distortion so low it can be used to power even the most frequency and
voltage fluctuation sensitive equipment. Further, two EU Series generators can be linked
in parallel operation using a simple connection cable to duplicate the power output of a
single larger conventional generator.

Load-Dependant Engine Speed
The EU Series' Load-dependant speed control-type electronic governor is
particularly effective in handling the motor loads of air conditioners, refrigerators, and
compressors, as well as providing the powerful surge of electricity for startup of
microwave ovens and other equipment. As shown in the graph at left, constantly optimizing
engine speed results in less operating noise, longer continuous operation without wasteful
downtime for refueling, and overall lower fuel consumption.

Electronic Control Unit
The stable electricity output offered by the EU Series is realized through
an advanced electronic control unit. Honda EU Series models are the first ever in their
output class to incorporate a microprocessor-controlled sine wave inverter mechanism for
electricity with low wave distortion and quality equal or superior to that available
commercially.

Two-Tiered Noise Dampening System
EU Series models feature an all-new noise-reducing design comprised of a
cube-shaped soundproofing box around the engine that cuts engine noise combined with an
outer wall that further dampens remaining noise leakage. This unique two-tiered structure
optimizes the conventionally opposed functions of engine cooling and noise reduction.

Special High Speed Multi-Pole Alternator
At the heart of the EU Series' extreme size and weight reduction is a
unique new Honda generation system featuring a special high-speed multi-pole alternator
integrated into the engine itself. Honda got rid of the bulky flywheel usually attached to
the engine and replaced it with this unique alternator, effectively reducing the weight of
the generation system by 1/3 and the overall size and weight of the generator by 1/2.

Load-Dependant Electronic Governor
